Inter Milan confirmed in a statement that Christian Eriksen is not permitted to play in Italy this season due to the cardiac arrest he had at Euro 2020, but the Serie A champions are ready to let the Denmark midfielder depart.
Eriksen went into cardiac arrest on the field during his country's first game of the tournament, against Finland, in June, and got life-saving treatment on the field.
He later received an implanted cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), a type of pacemaker that can prevent deadly cardiac arrests by delivering a jolt to re-establish a normal heart rhythm.
Eriksen will not be allowed to play in Italy unless the ICD device is removed, according to Francesco Braconaro, a member of the Italian Football Federation's technical scientific committee.
