MLS growth facet Charlotte FC has signed goalkeeper George Marks and defender Koa Santos thru the 2022 season with membership options from 2023 to 2025.
Marks comes in as a 3rd-spherical choice in the 2022 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, at the same time as Santos went undrafted.
“We’re excited to signal each George and Koa to their first professional contracts. The pair have proven wonderful work ethics for the duration of the preseason, and both earned their possibilities to be part of our inaugural roster,” wearing director Zoran Krneta said in a launch.
“George and Koa have validated to our technical personnel they're equipped to come to be professional footballers via their play in training and friendlies, and we’re excited to look them each expand with us at Charlotte FC.”
Prior to signing a settlement, Marks spent the closing 3 years as the beginning goalkeeper for Clemson University. He led his side to the 2021 NCAA country wide championship as a senior, and recorded forty seven wins, 21 shutouts and six,031 minutes for the Tigers average.
Santos spent four years at San Diego State University before becoming a member of Charlotte FC, in which he recorded fifty eight appearances. He additionally formed part of the Portland Timbers Under 23 organization, and inspired that side to the 2021 Western Conference Championship in USL League Two.
The most modern signings come in time for Charlotte’s MLS debut on February 26 when travelling to Audi Field to face D.C. United.
