The Columbus Crew signed midfielder James Igbekeme on mortgage from Spanish Segunda División facet Real Zaragoza for the 2022 Major League Soccer season. The MLS aspects will retain a buy option after the deal expires in December 2022.
Igbekeme will occupy an global roster spot.

The midfielder managed 4 desires in 96 league matches for Zaragoza throughout the last four seasons. He also featured for Portuguese aspects Ribeirão, Oliveirense and Gil Vicente before heading to Spain.
Igbekeme stands as Columbus’ modern-day international signing after previously acquiring middle back Milos Degenek as a loose agent and forward Yaw Yeboah from Wisla Krakow this offseason.
