Haaland Return To Premier League Gives Man City Victory Over Leeds United

Manchester City defeated Leeds United 3-1 as the Premier League resumed play after the World Cup break in Qatar. Erling Haaland scored again. The Norwegian striker scored 20 goals in 14 games, becoming the first player in English competition history to do so.

Leeds United hosted Manchester City at Elland Road. Guardiola's side needed all three points to finish second in the Premier League table. Haaland's team won 1-3 thanks to a brace by the striker.

Leeds, on the other hand, failed to hold out until half-time on level terms, as the visitors finally made their dominance count in first-half stoppage time. Kevin De Bruyne broke through the Leeds defense, and after Riyad Mahrez's shot was parried by Meslier, Rodri swept the rebound into the net.

Grealish scored City's second goal early in the second half. The English winger stole a ball in midfield and didn't waste time making another error: he passed the ball to Haaland, who added to the lead. Furthermore, Haaland quickly re-joined forces with Grealish to add the third. Despite this, Leeds broke the deadlock with a corner goal from Pascal Struijk.

Guardiola's team won this match, moving up to second place in the Premier League, while Leeds United are 15th with 15 points.
