Matt Turner has unfolded on the unexpected method behind his super penalty store file - admitting he runs on intuition instead of studies of the taker he's dealing with.
Turner has stored 9 out of 20 consequences in his career up to now, retaining a stunning 45 percent fulfillment fee. During the 2021 MLS season, he saved out of 4 consequences to boast the greatest percent in the American league.
On the most latest episode of 90min’s Football Americana podcast, the New England Revolution and USMNT goalkeeper admitted that even as maximum take the conventional technique of taping and analyzing their opponents, he likes to do matters a touch in a different way.

When requested if there's any unique practise that goes into his penalty saves, he admitted it's a little bit of herbal intuition and practice too.
“It’s a bit little bit of each," Turner admitted. "I surely think that during saying that as well, I assume maybe there's been 3 consequences in my lifestyles or my profession that I've dived the right way on and they still went in. It's a dedication to going to 1 facet and knowing like, "Okay, I'm going this manner. I'm saving it 100%".
“Well, not one hundred percent, there's been 3 which have long past in that I could have stored and I didn't. I assume that for me, it's the commitment to choosing a side, now not second-guessing your self and knowing what you're going to do with the ball with regards to you.”
Turner become voted 2021 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year after recording one hundred and one saves and 5 smooth sheets to encourage the New England Revolution to raise the Supporters Shield. He returns to motion on Tuesday as the club faces New York City FC in the Eastern Conference semifinal.
