It's been a dream season for West Ham United so far in 2021-22. The Hammers are perfect in the Europa League, they're into the quarterfinals of the League Cup (Carabao Cup) and they're in the top four in the Premier League table (4th place, 17 points). They can catch third-place Manchester City if they can beat Aston Villa (15th, 10 points) on the road in Matchday 10 on Sunday.
If Villa drops another match — the Villains have lost five of nine league matches — it will unexpectedly find itself in the relegation battle, contrary to preseason projections.
The race to avoid relegation will see a desperate Norwich City seeking all three points against sinking Leeds United (18th, 7 points). The Canaries (20th, 2 points) haven't won yet and they will frankly not get a better opportunity than hosting the team that's third from bottom with the second fewest goals scored (8). Norwich needs to win not only for its own hopes of staying in the Premier League, but to ensure that Leeds remains stuck in the relegation muck.
