WC QL: Zlatan Ibrahimovic recalled in Sweden squad

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been recalled to the Sweden squad ahead of the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Ibra's return to the national team was thwarted by a knee injury that saw him miss Sweden's Euro 2020. And now the AC Milan striker has been included in the Sweden squad by the head coach Janne Andersson for away games against Georgia on 11 November and Spain on 14 November.

"I have high hopes for his contribution, we are in constant contact and he is eager. At such a critical time, of course, we would not want to see a good and experienced player like him in the team," said Anderson.

After six games, Sweden lead European Group B with 15 points, two ahead of Spain. The group leaders buy their World Cup ticket directly, while the runners-up await a qualifying process.
