David Alaba went over his first couple of months at Real Madrid in an interview for 'Kicker' where he praised Karim Benzema.
"Benzema is a leader on and off the pitch. Assumes his role and works hard. I see him every day at the gym taking care of his body. Is inspiring because he is one of the first to arrive at the training ground every day and he gives his all on each session. Then he goes and performs every weekend", said Alaba about the French striker.
The Austrian midfielder puts Benzema at Lewandowski's level: "Everything I said about Karim I can also say it about 'Lewy'. They never stop wanting more and working harder. They show it on the pitch. They live towards the game and everything they do is towards succeeding. They are both crucial for their teams".
When asked about which Real Madrid players impressed him the most, Alaba said: "During the first couple of days, I was impressed by everyone's attitude towards work. You get to understand how important the sport is for people here. I already knew Kroos from Bayern, for example".
