Lautaro Martinez's contract extension has already been signed by the Argentinian forward. The striker signs with the Serie A winners until 2026 and will get rid of his 111 million euros release clause as reported earlier today.
This news doesn't come as a surprise as Inter's sporting director, Giuseppe Marotta said a couple of days ago to 'La Gazzeta dello Sport' that the deal was "close to being done". "We will announce it soon", he claimed.
Lautaro's current contract lasted until June 2023. The board should be happy as they get to keep Inter's star and have the last say if in the future there are teams interested in the Argentinian forward.
After Lukaku's departure, Inter had to secure that Lautaro Martinez stays at the club to keep fighting for the 'Scudetto'.
