Rio reveals why he’d tell Paul Pogba not to sign new Man Utd contract

Rio Ferdinand admits that if he was Paul Pogba he would not be signing a new contract at Manchester United right now.

The France midfielder will be out of contract at the end of the season and continues to be linked with a return to old club Juventus, as well as moves to fellow European heavyweights Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid. Barcelona are also rumoured to be keen.

However, for Pogba to even consider staying at Old Trafford, he wants assurances about his future at the club. Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already benched the talented midfielder on several occasions this season.

And Ferdinand firmly believes that the managers who have worked with the 28-year-old should take part of the blame for never realising his true potential – something that is not an issue on international duty.

Speaking on his YouTube Channel, the Red Devils legend said: “I wouldn’t commit if I was him. I’ve got to be honest, I wouldn’t.
