Lionel Messi is a doubt for Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday night after suffering a pair of minor injuries.
Messi was hauled off at the break during his team's Ligue 1 meeting with Lille on Friday night due to muscle discomfort. Trailing 1-0 when their star man was subbed, goals from Marquinhos and Angel Di Maria gave them the three points in the second period.
PSG may have to cope without Messi in midweek too. As reported by L'Equipe, in addition to the muscle discomfort he felt during the Lille victory, he also picked up a knock to his knee. Both problems are being closely monitored by the club's medical team.
Messi trained apart from the rest of the team on Sunday, instead doing work with a physiotherapist. Pochettino is understood to be unwilling to risk the forward against Leipzig, particularly as PSG are in a strong position in Group A.
They are currently top of the pile on seven points, with Manchester City a point behind in second. Meanwhile, Club Brugge have four points after three games and Leipzig are yet to get off the mark.
