CF Montreal president and CEO Kevin Gilmore has resigned from his role at the membership, effective straight away.
The group announced Gilmore had stepped down from the position after just over 3 seasons with the Canadian Major League Soccer aspect.
He first joined in 2019, overseeing the hiring of sporting director Olivier Renard and former head teach Thierry Henry, who left the club earlier than the 2021 season to be towards his circle of relatives.
Gilmore also supervised the club's arguable rebrand from Montreal Impact to Club de Foot Montreal.
His 2020 and 2021 seasons with the membership was not an easy one after the Covid-19 pandemic pressured Montreal to play the bulk of their “home” games within the United States.
Last yr, Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey hosted the Canadian side, whilst the beginning of 2021 saw them share the stage with Inter Miami at the DRV PNK Stadium, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Montreal has because been capable of return to their home stadium after Canada eased global border regulations.
“The ultimate 18 months have been very challenging on both the pandemic front and the club front, and very hard on a private stage for me and my family," Gilmore stated in a club statement.
"Ultimately, these cumulative factors led to my decision to go away the organisation. I’m grateful for my time with CF Montréal and thank the proprietors, the board and the team for the opportunity to work with them.”
The group currently sits in tenth area on the Eastern Conference desk, and is ready finish the 2021 Major League Soccer season on November 7 against Orlando City after failing to qualify for the playoffs.
