Andriy Shevchenko declared "war is not the solution" as he implored human beings to make their competition to Russia's invasion of Ukraine recognised.
Russia's military crossed the border into neighbouring Ukraine on Thursday and started navy action, prompting huge condemnation.
Shevchenko, Ukraine's all-time leading goalscorer and previous head instruct, desired humans to be a part of him in speakme out towards the attacks as he expressed a choice for the restoration of peace.
"In the early hours, a full-scale war become initiated by using Russia. My humans and my circle of relatives are underneath assault," Shevchenko wrote on social media.
"Ukraine and its population need peace and territorial integrity. Please, I ask you to guide our united states of america and contact the Russian authorities to forestall their aggression and violation of international regulation.
"We best need peace. War isn't always the answer."
